Cosmetic dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry allows us to correct small defects that prevent us from having the smile we always wanted, which is usually important to give a good first impression.

Examples of these small defects would be slightly bent, worn or misplaced teeth, old fillings that have lost its original color, birthmarks or loss of teeth whiteness.

To correct these small defects we will use different types of treatments:

Veneers: A veneer is a small film that is attached to the tooth. It can be made of different materials such as porcelain (made in the laboratory) or composite (made in the dentist in a single session).

In recent years, composites (materials used for dental fillings) have evolved to get optical and visual properties that allow to perfectly imitate the color, translucency and shape of the teeth obtaining a natural and durable result.

Teeth Whitening: This treatment allows us to reduce several tones teeth color in one session or various applications at home using products that don’t irritate the patient gums. This way it is possible to obtain better teeth color during a long time.

Frequent questions:

After a whitening treatment it is strongly recommended to avoid substances that may tint teeth such as coffee, wine or tobacco.

Yes, as long as he/she has a good oral hygiene with absence of tooth decay.

It works mainly on patients over 30 years old whose teeth have lost their original whiteness and have reduced it several tones. In cases in which there are stains or birthmarks in the teeth it won’t be so effective and it would be recommended to do a treatment using veneers.

If the patient has a good oral hygiene, it can last 2 or 3 years.
